George and Theresa grew up in towns (near Valley Forge, PA) about a dozen miles apart as the crow flies. We met in college in 1976, married in 1978 and moved to NYC a few months later.
In 1980 we moved outside Atlanta where we have been ever since.
George was raised in Oaks, PA and graduated from Drexel University in Philadelphia. He had a wonderful career in various technical and managerial positions in the computer industry. His work took us to New York City and then Atlanta.
Theresa Giampa was raised in Ambler, PA and became a Registered Nurse just prior to our marriage. She went on to become a Certified Nurse Midwife and gathered 4 degrees along the way. Today she leads a team at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Unlike her Northern transplant parents, Laura was born in the South. She attended Montessori school, then Greater Atlanta Christian and graduated from St. Pius X. Laura went on to the University of Georgia (2 degrees) and Georgia State University (1 degree).
William and Laura met at the University of Georgia and were married 4 years later on May 28, 2016 in Berkeley Lake. They enjoyed a 3 week honeymoon in Germany. The following August, they relocated to Charlottesville, VA in order for Laura to complete her studies at UVA.
William graduated from UGA the year before Laura. He is now well down the path in his pursuit of a land surveyor license (a long process).
Pebbles and BamBam are sister and brother (respectively; same litter) Shih Tzu and have been a part of our family since 2000. Even though they grew old, we still called them puppies. Pebbles is still with us, but sadly BamBam passed away at age 18 on May 25, 2018.
